One thing is certain; this opera chosen by François Mitterrand has spilled much ink. Built on the Place de la Bastille to the site of a former railway station, the room is intended primarily to relieve the opera Garnier. Built in the rush to celebrate the bicentenary of the Revolution, the monument of glass and steel has been designed by the architect Carlos Ott. The room is a standard for opera and ballet.
