September 18 to December 15, the City Hall invites Hollywood. With the exhibition "Paris, seen by Hollywood," discover how American movies, on more than a century, has represented Paris, offering him a place in film history.
The historic Paris of mute
The exhibition features many film clips, photographs, models of sets, costumes, scripts, posters ... nearly 400 papers, from French and American archives such as the French Cinematheque, the Library of the Oscars (Margaret Herrick Library), Warner archives and private collectors.
Twenty screens allow to discover nearly 70 film clips, from the first Edison films to those of Woody Allen, as well as reports on the filming of "Funny Face" by Stanley Donen, "The Vise" by Alfred Hitchcock, etc…
A giant screen of 20 meters long, offering a montage combining film clips, photographs and posters, summarizing a century of uninterrupted correspondence between Hollywood and Paris.
