Situated in the building of the Syndicat de l'Epicerie Française, an significant building as much for its position on a beautiful main road in the centre of Paris as for its original status: a trade union office built in 1901. In the 1980s: the union was moved to another room in the building. The ground floor was transformed into a theatre: the Théâtre de l'Epicerie until 1986, the Roseau Théâtre until 1993 and in 1994, it became the Théatre du Renard. This building in art nouveau style no longer houses the Syndicat de l'Epicerie Française but above the colossal arches, you can still see "TOUS POUR UN, UN POUR TOUS" (All for one, and one for all) engraves. Outside, the building maintains a Germanic decor with its superb, impassive large faces, its large cartouches with richly ornate borders, and its wide archways on the ground floor, evoking the numerous stations built throughout the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Refurbished and turned into a cabaret restaurant at nightfall, the former theatre transformed into a luxury Parisian night-life hotspot in very couture style. Decorated in black leather, fitted carpet and paint, extravagance, outrageousness and style can all be found here. And the doors and gates have not been left out, they are also wonderfully original. This mesmerizing cabaret restaurant will charm you with a dazzling combination of glamour and comfort. The Théâtre du Renard welcomes you into a music-hall decor designed by Franklin Azzi Architecture, not far from the Pompidou Centre and the Hôtel de Ville. A former theatre of the 1920s, the Renard shows a new side to its existence.
