In the spring of 2019, the Big Master of Danish painting, Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916) is in the spotlight at the Jacquemart-André Museum, from March 14 to July 22, 2019. A new perspective, for the first time in 20 years, the mysterious and poetic works of the painter are collected in Paris. The paintings on display will evoke the whole of Hammershøi's work and its deep and mysterious atmosphere. Unsociable and taciturn, Hammershøi spent his entire life in a small circle that he never ceased to represent: his models are his mother, his sister, his brother, his brother-in-law and a few close friends. His works also represent Ida, his wife, who is often found behind, in many of the interiors that made him famous.
