Grand Palais organize an exhibition of Michael Jackson the King of Pop entitled "On the Wall" from November 23, 2018 to February 14, 2019. This exhibition will trace his career as a singer and his influence in the world of music and music art.
On the Wall, focuses on "the cultural impact of Michael Jackson's personality and work in the field of contemporary art from the 80s to today".
In the exhibition will be exhibited the works of many artists fascinated by Michael: Rita Ackerman, Dara Birnbaum, Candice Breitz, Dexter Dalwood, Mark Flood, Isa Genzken, David Hammons, Lyle Ashton Harris, Jonathan Horowitz, Gary Hume, Rashid Johnson, Isaac Julien, Jeff Koons, David LaChapelle, Klara Liden, Glenn Ligon, Paul McCarthy, Dawn Mellor, Lorraine O’Grady, Catherine Opie, Grayson Perry... The exhibition will be organized chronologically to allow the public to follow the transformation of Jackson of a young boy gifted to a world legend.
Michael Jackson’s songs, choreographies and video clips are testament to the extraordinary artistic path he was destined for, and were a source of inspiration for many artists: Andy Warhol, Lorraine O’Grady, Isaac Julien… Come and see how their works reflect those of the King of Pop and his personality!
