Exhibition Black & White at Grand Palais
The exhibition Black & White, in co-production with Bibliothèque nationale de France, will be open from December 16, 2020 to February 1, 2021. Timeless and resolutely contemporary, black and white embodies the essence of the discipline through its aesthetic and plastic strength.
A field of expression for the greatest photographers, it is still sought after today for the richness of its nuances and its radicalism. The Grand Palais invites you to discover 300 emblematic prints from the BnF collections through this theme which embraces the history of 20th century photography and explores the aesthetics of a powerful and committed technique.
Among more than 200 photographers, prints by Nadar, Man Ray, Ansel Adams, Willy Ronis, Helmut Newton, Diane Arbus, Mario Giacomelli, Robert Franck, William Klein, Daido Moriyama, Valérie Belin, Brassaï, and Cartier Bresson are presented.
This exhibition is organised by Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais and Bibliothèque nationale de France.
This exhibition is supported by the Fondation Louis Roederer
