An ephemeral Grand Palais settles on the Champ-de-Mars
During the renovation of the Grand Palais, an ephemeral space, a temporary building of around 10,000m2 designed by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, will settle on the Champ-de-Mars in Paris at the start of 2021. Currently in the process of being set up, the new place will host, the artistic and cultural events, as well as events related to fashion, gastronomy and sport usually organized in the Nef. A large part of the Champ-de-Mars will remain accessible to visitors.
Once the renovations are complete, the Grand Palais will host the Olympic Games fencing and taekwondo events in the summer of 2024, followed by the Paralympic chair fencing and para judo events. The ephemeral Grand Palais, will host at the same time the judo and wrestling competitions of the Olympic Games, then those of the Paralympic table tennis.
