The Rake's Progress show at the Opera Garnier

Opera inspired Mozart, written by Stravinsky in 1951 for La Fenice in Venice, The Rake's Progress is a masterpiece of its own. Neither pastiche nor nostalgic, yet he returned in the twentieth century, with a lyrical disappeared. A series of extraordinary arias alternating with recitatives removed, organizes the classical balance of the book.
The book, considered a gold standard in this area, storytelling, often with fantasy, irony and sometimes gravity, the misadventures of Tom Rakewell, candid young lovers, however, greedy for wealth and freedom, manipulated by the evil Nick Shadow, who will lose everything, to the right.
