Petit Palais presents a major exhibition-event entitled "Romantic Paris, 1815-1848" from 22 May 2019 to 15 September 2019

After "Paris 1900, la Ville spectacle", Petit Palais presents a major exhibition-event entitled "Romantic Paris, 1815-1848", which offers a vast panorama of the capital during the romantic years, from the fall of Napoleon to the revolution from 1848, from 22 May 2019 to 15 September 2019 This large-scale exhibition plunges us into the effervescence of Paris in the romantic era. From the fall of Napoleon to the 1848 revolution, Paris was the cultural crossroads of Europe. Parisians raved about English tailoring and literature, were passionate about Spain and the Greek cause, and discovered Germany, nor did they turn their backs on Italian opera. Rossini, Liszt and Chopin were all drawn to its concert scene. Parisians relished literary battles and the exhilaration of luxury and refinement. The exhibition covers fashion and dance and also Berlioz and Delacroix, thanks to some very special loans and spectacular scenography. We are taken on a walk through the high points of Parisian romanticism, from the Palais Royal to Nouvelle Athènes; the Comédie Française to the Grands Boulevards. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm and late opening on Friday until 9 pm
