The exhibition of Eugene Atget that will take place from April 25 to the Carnavalet Museum was made from funds of the museum itself and complemented by those of the George Eastman House in Rochester and collections of Fundación Mapfre in Madrid . This exhibition brings together images and other well-known novel remained one of the most famous photographers of the twentieth century.
Atget's photographs also show the evolution of his approach: in its infancy, seeks to bring together this self-taught landscape and grounds, then images of Parisian streets to sell them as models for artists. It is from the time he devoted himself to the streets of Paris that holds the attention of such prestigious institutions as the Musee Carnavalet, or the National Library, which will then become its main customers for the rest of his life .
